Malika Lubell-Doughtie

Assistant Director of Outreach Manhattan

Malika Lubell-Doughtie is the Assistant Director of Outreach for Manhattan at Common Justice. Prior to joining Common Justice, she served as a Criminal Defense Attorney at the Bronx Defenders for over eight years and as a Supervising Attorney for over two-and-a-half of those years. Malika received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was a Root-Tilden-Kern, D'Agostino scholar. While at NYU, Malika was the Director of the Suspension Representation Project (SRP), and participated in the Litigation, Organizing and Systemic Change Clinic, as well as the Juvenile Defender Clinic. Prior to law school, Malika worked at Choices, an alternative to detention program for youth, a program of The Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES). Prior to her work with Choices she served as a Street Outreach Worker and Residential Counselor with Girls Educational & Mentoring Services (GEMS). Malika holds a B.A. in Politics and Gender & Women's Studies from Pomona College. Malika is a born and raised New Yorker, who grew up in the Bronx but now calls Harlem home. In her spare time, Malika loves to practice yoga and spend time with friends and family.
