Alaya Carr

Donor Organizer

Alaya Carr is the Donor Organizer at Common Justice. Although they have lived in various parts of the U.S., they have spent the last couple of years in the Seattle area. While in Washington State, they worked as an Administrative Assistant/Care Coordinator at a feminist, LGBTQ-centered group therapy practice and worked alongside the author Ijeoma Oluo and her team. Outside of work, Alaya worked alongside incarcerated artists and organizers and organized with Mutual Aid Books, a book distribution and mutual aid project with a special focus on sharing works by authors of color and books about prison abolition. They are excited to work across teams at Common Justice and reconnect with organizers in New York City. Outside of work and community organizing, they like to read, spend time in museums, study languages, Pilates, and dance.
